Michelin Star Restaurants
A Michelin star is the ultimate hallmark of culinary excellence. Michelin stars are awarded to restaurants judged to be of a particularly high standard. Eateries that make the grade can be awarded one, two, or three stars, and the accolade is much-coveted by chefs around the world. The star system was first introduced in 1926, with a single star denoting “a very good restaurant”. The second and third stars were added in 1933, with two stars meaning “excellent cooking that is worth a detour”, and three stars “exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey”.The Michelin Guide has been published annually since 1900 and was originally intended to help drivers find mechanics, hotels, and of course, good restaurants, on their travels.
In the years that followed, the popularity of the scheme spread overseas, with guides published for major cities around the world. The company also enlisted the help of the legendary Michelin Inspectors, and developed the rigorous system of testing that has made the Michelin Guide the fine-dining bible it is today.

We visited this restaurant for a very special occasion, and we were not disappointed at all. Located in a quiet area in San Francisco CA, this restaurant has probably the most exquisite mix of elegance, ambience, and a minimalistic décor, that almost confuse you with a ‘Culinary SPA’ (best way to describe it)
Our menu was inspired and created by the Chef according to our culinary preference and dietary restrictions. Printed on a beautiful paper with a personalized note from the restaurant’s staff.
Although, the restaurant was full, the layout and design allow your senses to think that you are the only customer. A smooth music was playing clearly throughout the dinning room, no other conversations were interrupting the atmosphere.
Furniture designers selected the fabric for the chairs and sofas with a special texture that inspire calm and serenity (explained by the Maître)

Quality of Service ‘A’
Although, we were served by a professional staff, it really makes you feel that a Chef’s family member was coming to explain each creation. The intention and passion in every description was a storytelling of a piece of art.

In the heart of NYC, in the tip of Central Park, in the bottom of a golden tower…Chef Jean George Restaurant, an experience for all your senses!
Bar, wine, and beverages ‘A’
Cocktails are exquisite, the flavors, aromas, and presentation were on point. Their version/twist of ‘Old Fashion’ was just UNBELIVABLE. An extensive wine list can accommodate your dream bottle or glass of a well preserve vintage wine pairing with your menu. If you have any questions, restaurant’s sommelier can advise and guide you through his list, no pressure… I can assure you!
Quality of Service ‘A’
From the moment you walked thru the doors until the Maître welcome you to your table, was just an experience by itself. Their host recognized and welcome us immediately as soon as we step into the restaurant. Our table was set precisely with a classy and beautiful china.
If you never had the opportunity to enjoy a dinner at a Michelin Start testing menu restaurant, allow me to explain you how the services are layout for every customer! In this restaurant you have three option: 6 courses meal, 10 courses meal (omnivore) and 6 courses vegetarian meal.
We chose the 10 courses meal, every one of them come with an explanation of what it is and perhaps with some inside story about the Chef’s inspiration.
Wine service was managed with a precise amount for each dish, that incredibly last it until the last bite!
Maître, Garzon, Bus personnel were so synchronized in every movement, that make your experience something to remember.
Lastly, as you would imagine, after such amazing wine and cocktails a ‘men’s room’ place a call. When I came back… my entire table set was renewed and refreshed as it was when I walked into the restaurant in the beginning of our journey.
Food and Menu ‘A’
Perfection to reality. If I have to describe each of those ten courses, I will literally burn the keys on this keyboard! I would do my best to, at the least, summarize our culinary experience.
From a Sweet Pea Soup and Black Pepper Oil amuse bouche to a Rhubarb, wild strawberries, Sicilian pistachio, and white chocolate dessert creation, all my senses were awake like never before.
The favorites! Yellowfin Tuna Noodles and incredible creation of tangy flavors from the avocado and radishes spike up with a ginger dressing with a touch of infused chili oil.
From the hearth… Elysian Farm Lamb Chop cooked to perfection on an exquisite cucumber yogurt sauce.
The surprise! White Chocolate Gnocchi, an incredible combination of bittersweet and Grand Mom’s Italian potato recipe.
Overall, two well deserved Michelin Stars!
